With 117 music
shows over 9 days, our hoedown band and the Mountain Folk Duo and
Ensemble entertained over one hundred thousand people at the 2007
Kutztown Folklife Festival!

traditions of Appalachian Mountain folk music, dancing and calling
at the Kutztown Folklife Festival.

this sign about dancing shows!

Fenstermacher share company with a baby goat who "sang" along to the
Mountain Folk Duo show at the animal petting zoo near the hoedown
stage!

Above and below: Throughout the 9 days of the
festival, and on July 4th, Dave and his Mountain Folk Band ensemble
featuring Joann Zuber, Sylvia Keller, Ted Fenstermacher and others
at this festival, entertained with Appalachian and Alpine
sing-a-long tunes using the power of the mind's-eye to
transport listeners on a musical journey from America's Appalachian
Mountains to Europe's Alps featuring all aspects of mountain
culture.

Above: Folk art such as the painting on this
locally produced hex sign is an important part of the festival.

Above: In addition to traditional folk music,
the festival also features several strolling old-time brass bands
which are a throw back to the great community brass bands of Europe.
Here we see Der Doppeladler Sauerkraut Band; The Double Eagle
Sauerkraut Band.
